The RAR came into this weekend still unbeaten with only one goal scored against us. Robbie was elected captain for the day through his great attitude during the previous week and at training.
This game was pretty much dominated by the RAR from the very start. With Keiron away on business, it fell to Sam L to occupy the Galaxy defence. Sam R, Dylan and Adam battled constantly in the middle of the park and pretty much kept the opponents busy in their own half. On the few occasions when they did manage to break, Robbie and Callum were as ever on hand to ensure our fantastic defensive form continues. Jake kept his concentration and when called upon was always in control. In the second half, the RAR pushed on to try and win the game but were unable to take advantage of their possession of the ball. Right at the death, things looked grim when a Galaxy danger man found himself through on goal with only Jake to beat. Jake stood strong and tall before Callum who never gave up slid in for a fabulaous tackle just as the forward was about to shoot. The game ended goaless and the RAR still unbeaten against a good strong team. A great performance by everyone. Keep playing like this and the goals will start to come.
Man of the match was awarded to Callum Taylor. No frills just good strong, safe defending with a great tackle at the end of the game.
Well done to everyone.

This was always going to be a good test. A big physical looking side who have held top spot in the league the last few weeks. Ethan was started giving Sam R a rest and pretty much made an impact early on. The RAR pressed hard and when a ball broke loose at the edge of the Utd goal area, Ethan struck first time. The goalkeeper was well beaten but the ball struck the crossbar. The RAR continued to press hard with some suspect tackles stopping possible goal opportunities. Dylan appeared to be through on goal when he was floored from behind. The resulting free kick eventually being forced wide. A similar challenge on Ethan resulted in Sam R entering the field to allow Ethan time to recover. As the first half ended, United started showing signs of strength with some great runs from their own half only to be stopped by solid defending by Callum and Robbie.
The second half saw the RAR having to be strong to avoid going behind. Every player battled hard with Adam, Dylan and Sam R having to help out in defence. Sam L found himself alone for the first time as everyone played their part to avoid going behind. Each time the ball broke, he did his best to keep the Utd defenders busy. Ethan was reintroduced to try and turn the play. As the game drew to a close, subs were rolled on and off for breathers and the RAR started pushing forward. United were always a threat with their good breaks, one of which caught us pushing forward leaving Jake one on one with the Utd frontman. Again Jake stood tall and strong. The shot was powerful but hit the post ensuring the RAR played safe to the whistle.
A great game with the points shared which was probably the right result. Two good teams who are going to be hard to break down. A great team performance and still unbeaten.
Remember. IF THEY DONT SCORE YOU CANT GET BEAT .
Well Done Fellas.
Man of the Match was again awarded to Callum Taylor who frustrated the Utd coach with some great defending.

The RAR came into the weekend after a great previous weekend. Dylan was elected captain for the day through his great attitude during the previous week and at training. We welcomed back Sam Robson and Ethan McArdle from injury.
Washington were always going to be a tough challenge after a draw with ‘The FC’ last week. But the RAR were more than up for it. Right from the start the RAR were pressing hard and went close within the first minute. Washington pressed well but great defending by Robbie and Callum prevented any serious threat. This allowed our midfield to push on and keep Washington on the back foot. Eventually, the break came, excellent pressure by Adam and Dylan saw Sam L race onto a through ball in a one-on-one with the Jags keeper. His bravery paid off as the ball broke free for Keiron to slot home for the opener. Unfortunately, Sam sustained an injured ankle in the challenge and had to leave the field and was replaced by Ethan.
From the restart, it was back to business with much the same. Adam and Dylan ‘bossed’ the centre of the park with the hard working Ethan closing down any threat quickly. Shortly after, Dylan worked hard to pick up the ball on the right wing driving hard at the Jags. Keiron read the move perfect and great communication saw Dylan send an inch perfect pass cut back to Keiron who slotted clincally with his first touch to see the RAR go 2 – 0 at half time.
The Jags upped their efforts in the second half but the defence were resolute with Adam covering every blade of grass to make life hard for Washington team. Jake again had little to do but was always reliable whenever called upon. Sam R entered the arena to give Keiron a well earned break and continued to worry their defence. Thanks to excellent work by all, it never looked like our defence would be breached. Great effort by everyone and great result. Well done Fellas.
Man of the match was awarded to Callum Taylor for another strong, no nonsense display.

Starting with the same formation that ended the first game, the RAR started with all the play, quickly pushing the Colts back into their own area and seeing a few chances go begging. Ethan left the field for a rest which saw Sam R move back into midfield and Keiron resume up front. Almost immediately some strong shielding and hold up play by Keiron allowed the RAR to surge forward, some good link up play had the Colts keeper going to collect but pressure from captain Dylan resulted in a fumble which Dylan pounced upon and was rewarded for his hard work.
Second half continued in the same way. The RAR looking the more likely to score having the lions share of possession. Ethan was reintroduced midway to give the hard working Adam a break.
With only minutes remaining, a good clearance by the Colts saw a strange bounce on the poor surface just outside the RAR goal area which appeared to hit our defender on the arm., The referee decided that a free kick was justified which was very harsh on our hard working team. The Colts manager brought on a sub to take who obviously practises his free kicks and this resulted in a fine effort that sneaked in at the far post. 1 – 1.
The remaining minutes had the RAR almost camped in the Colts area. Good close footwork by Keiron just outside the Colts area earned free kicks. Sam R was unlucky with fine efforts which only just went wide. Pressure continued from a corner folowed up by Sam producing a good save from the keeper. The game ended all square against the run of play but ensures the RAR are still unbeaten with only one goal against.
Another hard working display which on another day might have seen several goals. Smiles all round from a great team effort over two games on the day.
Man of the match was awarded to Keiron who looked dangerous each time he got the ball and played some great passes.

The start of the new season saw the line up of Jake McArdle (goal), Callum Taylor and Robbie Allison in defence. Adam Petch, Dylan Middlemiss and Sam Lyall in midfield with Keiron Brown (capt) up front. We begin the new season with each game seeing a man of the match nominated by the opponents coach.
Lumley Delta started strongly with some strong attacking football. The RAR responded with some resilient defending with the midfield doing their bit to help out at the back. Keiron ensured that the opponents defenders were occupied and soon the tide turned with some good breaks putting Lumley back in their own goal area.
The second half continued with all the play in the Lumley area with Keiron and Robbie both going very close. With the opponents now held in their own area, the RAR found it difficult to get through the crowded goal area. At the death Dylan hit a thunderbolt destined for the top corner when the keeper out of nowhere was able to get a hand to it and see it over the bar. All the spectators acknowledging a tremendous save. The game ended goal less with Jake having little to do but when called upon was solid for his team.
Man of the match was awarded to Callum Taylor for a solid performance, always there to snuff out each threatened attack as it entered our half.
A great start. With no subs due to sickness, each player worked very hard and deserved more than the draw. Well Done Fellas.

The next game saw the RAR facing our club mates Riverside FC in an eagerly anticipated derby. The RAR being the away side saw them don the away red tops of England. The game started and was difficult for the RAR not being used to opponents wearing identical kit to that normally worn by themselves. The game settled down and developed into an end to end contest with each team pressing hard. Some great defending from Robbie almost caught out a pressing FC. Steady safe goalkeeping prevented an opener. The second half started much the same with each side hunting for an opener for the RAR. Sam Lyall was put through by Dylan and rode a number of timely tackles before seeing the ball narrowly missing the goal. Adam and Dylan battled hard all game and were unlucky to see their efforts go unrewarded. All the parents were excellent supporters of both teams and the game ended goal less with each mam and dad exhausted from the action. Another solid performance from each player who look very hard to break down.
Man of the match was awarded to Sam Lyall for his hard work.
Another good result against a good team. Keep it going.
