Riverside 0-3 Durham Soccerena

The game started well with Riverside on the attack for the first few minutes but as the game progressed Durham Soccerena became the dominant team. Riverside defended well until about 10 mins into the game when a cross from the Durham winger founds its way into the Riverside net making the score 1-0 at half time.

The second half continued much the same as the first when Durham's second goal came from a corner when their striker was first to the ball and found the Riverside net. Riverside battled hard but Durham scored a third goal with a few minutes of the game remaining to make the final score 3-0.

Riverside 2-0 Hetton Lyons

Riverside dominated the first half but could not break the dead lock and went into the second half with the score 0-0.

The boys were rewarded for their hard work in the second half when Jonathon scored the first goal of the game after Corey broke away and took a shot which was rebounded off the goalkeeper. Jonathon was first to react and placed the ball in


 


Riverside 0-2 Byers Green

The boys got off to a poor start and went down 1-0 after about 2 minutes following a scramble in the box the ball crept over the goal line. Byers Green kept on pressing and soon made it 2-0 when Riverside didn't deal with the ball in defence. After the early set back the boys dug deep and started playing better even though Byers Green were the better side they did not manage to score a further goal. The second half was a more even game which kept the final score at 2-0 to Byers Green.


Riverside 5-1 Coxhoe

The boys played well from the start and had pressure on the Coxhoe goal straight away and with about 5 minutes gone the first goal came when Jonathon won the ball in midfield from the Coxhoe keeper's clearance and his shot from outside the box found the net. The boys kept the pressure on and the second goal soon came as Jonathon broke from his own half and found himslf one on one with the keeper and coolly found the bottom righ hand corner. The third goal was similar to the second but this time it was Corey who broke free and again found the bottom left hand coner of the net. The fourth goal came just before the half time whistle, it came from a corner and found Corey in the box and his strike found the Coxhoe net.

The secnd half started similar to the first with Riverside scoring with 5 minutes gone in the second half when Lewis's shot was saved and Jonathon reacted quickest to slot the ball into the empty net. Riverside continued to press with Euan almost scoring but the Coxhoe keeper saved well.

Coxhoe did not let their heads go down and made the final score 5-1 as their striker finished well with 5 minutes of the game remaining.


Riverside FC 0- 4 Sacriston Community FC


The boys started slowly in this game and soon found themselves 2 -0 down when they did not clear the ball in defence but it was pleasing that they battle on and went into half time 2-0 down.The boys played better in the second half and kept battling but without creating a chance and Sacriston were still on top and mananged to score another 2 goals in the second half to make the full time score 4-0 to Sacriston.

Bowburn Youth 4-0 Riverside FC


The boys were playing the top of the league in this game but were defending brillantly against a very good side but there defence was broken about 5 minutes before half time to give bowburn the lead this is how it stayed at halt time.Unfortunately the boys conceeded straight from 2nd half kick off and then half way through the 2nd half a goalkick was collected by the Bowburn midfield and the 1st time shot found the top of the net.Bowburn rounded off there deserved 4-0 victory near the end of the game.The boys can be proud the way they continued to battle to think it was onlt there 4th ever game.


 

Riverside FC 1 - 0 Houghton Boys

The boys ended their first ever game with a victory. It was a tight game with very few chances in the first half, the best came when Corey was fouled just outside the box and a good free kick from Jonathon was cleared off the line and out for a corner.

The second half began the best possible way when Corey put Jonathon through on goal and his first time shot from just outside the box found the bottom of the net. Houghton came back towards the end of the game but all of the lads defended well. Houghton had a free kick which Lewis saved on the goal line just before the final whistle allowing Riverside FC a 1-0 victory.



Riverside FC 0 - 2 Hetton Lyons

This game was also a close encounter with both teams having few chances. Riverside came close to scoring following a cross from the left which Corey deflected onto the post and Hetton Lyons cleared for a corner. Hetton Lyons had a chance when their forward ran free which Lewis saved on the line. This kept the score 0-0 at half time. Unfortunately in the 2nd half he Hetton Lyons forward won the ball in the Riverside and found himself on goal and he slotted the ball past the keeper in the botton corner. Riverside kept going and came close to leveling the scores with a free kick that was first blocked and the rebound was saved by the Hetton Lyons keeper. Hetton Lyons 2nd goal came near the end of the 2nd half as Riverside pressed for the equaliser and were caught on the counter attack and again the Hetton Lyons striker found himself one on one with the keeper and he made the final score 2-0.
